The intense popularity of Charizard in the Pokemon world has made a huge demand for a gratis Charizard picture tutorial.
You asked for it; we delivered it. Finally, we’ve created a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw Charizard, simplified with 9 easy steps and illustrations. All you need is a pencil and paper, and you’re ready to start drawing! Have fun, and utilize your creativity to get Charizard to energy! You can draw many more characters like drawing of batman, Anubis drawing, cat drawing, cobra drawing, blueberry drawing, coconut drawing and many more drawing for kids.
Starting at the top left corner of your paper, draw an irregular circle shape to outline Charizard’s head. The shape should be wider than long, as shown in the illustration.
To complete the outline, draw two triangular shapes on either side of the top of Charizard’s head. Next, draw a sideways oval at the bottom of the circle we drew earlier, forming Charizard’s muzzle. This shape should be significantly larger than we drew in the previous step. Feel gratis to use the image as an attendant! Remember that you should avoid pressing too hard with the pencil when outlining. It is important to draw with light strokes to erase unnecessary lines later easily.
Using an eraser, remove any overlapping lines in the shapes we drew in the previous steps. This will show a refined design of Charizard’s lead.
After completing the outline of the head, we will now move on to his body. Just below Charizard’s head, draw a long, curved shape to create the full neck and torso. Remember to emphasize the belly and make it appear round.
Create Charizard’s limbs by drawing a curved line down the right side on each side at the bottom of his torso. This describes Charizard’s legs. Then draw another curved line directly connected to the ones we drew earlier to create the two feet. After completing this step, the Charizard’s pair of legs should be complete.
Draw a long, curved shape on each side of Charizard’s body near his chest. This creates Charizard’s two arms. Remember to draw a curved line also going down through Charizard’s chest! This forms the lower part of the Charizard’s body.
Structure the tail by drawing an elongated triangular shape attached to the Charizard’s lower back. Next, draw a thin line inside the tail to form the outline of its underside. The triangular shape should curve upwards, as shown in the illustration. Be sure to add a flame to the end of the tail; it’s one of Charizard’s distinguishing features!
Create Charzard’s wings by drawing the bone structure in an inverted “V” shape. Next, draw connecting curved lines at the bottom, creating a triangular-shaped wing. When drawn correctly, Charizard’s wings should look quite similar in shape to a bat’s. Since Charizard looks from the side, only its right wing is visible.
Make Charizard look happy by creating his facial features! Start by drawing two oval shapes to draw the eyes. Next, draw small circles inside each eye to create the iris. Complete the eyes by shading all the space inside the eyes except for the small circles. This creates a dramatic “glittering sight” effect. To create the nose, draw two small shaded circles next to each other. As you can see, your Charizard drawing has finally come to life! Now, all it takes is a splash of color to make Charizard look vibrant and colorful!
Now that we’ve successfully drawn a Charizard, it’s time for the fun part: choosing colors and coloring your drawing. Charizard is initially orange in color with a cream-colored bottom. Its pair of wings, on the other hand, are bluish-green. You can choose to color your drawing with the original Charizard colors or manually choose a unique set of colors. If mixing and matching colors sound fun, go ahead and customize the colors of your design. Everything depends on you! After all, it’s your work of art!
